After clicking on the link https://epubs.icar.org.in/index.php/MR you will have to register (Pl see top right) and then login. Click on the new submission and follow the 5 step procedure.

After completing the review process by two referees, the papers are checked for plagiarism and DOI number is obtained on payment basis per paper. There is no publication fee. Detailed instructions for Authors

Mushroom Research, the official publication of the Mushroom Society of India is a bi-annual journal. It publishes full length papers and short communications reporting original research (basic and applied), which contribute significantly to the knowledge of the mushroom science and industry. Mini-reviews (with prior consent or invitation only) and articles of practical/technical importance are also published. News and views, and book reviews can also be considered. At least one of the authors should be the members of the Society. Mushroom Research Journal is a free to access and free to publish journal. There is no submission or publishing fee for this journal.

Style and Lay-out

Research Articles

Manuscripts must be written in English in double-space, 12-point type throughout, including the references cited section, appendices, tables and legends; printed on one side of A4 paper with 2.5 cm margins; marked with consecutive page numbers, beginning with the cover page. The following elements should start on a new page and be ordered as they are listed below.

a) The title page should contain a concise and informative title; a short title of 6-7 words; the authors’ names; the authors’ institutional affiliation, including department, institution, and city, state or province, and country; different affiliations indicated with superscript numbers; a short running title of not more than 15 words; up to six key words; the corresponding author’s name, postal address, phone, fax numbers and e-mail address. The corresponding author is the person responsible for checking the page proofs, and arranging for the payment of reprint changes and author alterations, etc.

b) The Abstract must be a single paragraph that should not exceed 200 words and summarizes the main results and conclusions of the study. It should not contain references.

c) The text must be as concise as ‘possible. Text citations: articles should be referred to by authors’ surnames and date of publication; citations with two authors must include both names; in citations with three or more authors, name the first author and use “et al”. Only published articles should be cited. Avoid starting a sentence with a number. Binomial Names; Latin names of genera, species and intra-specific taxa in the text must be printed in italics.

The text includes the following elements:

a) Introduction: Description of the background that led to the study.

b) Materials and Methods: Details relevant to the conduct of the study. Statistical methods should be explained at the end of this section.

c) Results and Discussion: Present the results in the tables as concise as possible and the results in the tables should not be described/ repeated in the text. The findings of the study should be placed in context of relevant published data. Ideas presented in other publications should not be discussed solely to make an exhaustive presentation. Some manuscripts may require different formats appropriate to their content.

d) The Acknowledgement must be a single paragraph that immediately follows the discussion and includes source of grant and technical support.

e) The References Section: Citations should be ordered alphabetically by the first author; only articles that are published should be included; personal communications must be cited within the text; journal titles must be abbreviated according to Medline.

f) Tables: Each table must start on a new page. A concise title should be provided above the table. Tables must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals. Each column must have a title in the box head. Footnotes, typed directly below the table, should be indicated in lowercase superscript numbers.

g) Figures must be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals. Legends should be typed on separate sheet. Images should be in JPEG format and provided in separate files. Journal quality reproduction will require grayscale and color at resolution yielding 300 dpi. Authors should submit bitmapped line art at resolution yielding 600-200 dpi. These resolutions refer to the output size of the file; if it is anticipated that images will be enlarged or reduced, the resolutions should be adjusted accordingly. Authors are encouraged to submit coloured photographs of high resolution. However, the colour printing will be charged if required by the author @Rs.500/page.

h) Nomenclature: Current standard international nomenclature should be adhered to.

i) Sequences may appear in text or in figure. DNA, RNA, or protein sequences equal to or greater that 50 units must be entered into appropriate data bank and the accession number may also be provided before publication of the article.

Short Communications: Authors may brief observations that do not warrant full-length articles. Their format is different than the full-length article. The text must be kept to a minimum. Short communications do not require an abstract, Introduction, Materials and methods, Results and discussion sections. The article must have references while headings and subheadings may be as per the need of the manuscript.

Review Articles are welcome only from the reputed, respected peers in the field of basic and applied aspects of mushroom science.

Book Reviews are welcome from the peers in the area/subject of the book on mushroom science and related disciplines, for review in the journal.

Proofs: Page proofs, if required, will be sent to the corresponding author through email and authors have to send their corrections/modifications within seven days time. Please keep it in mind that the changes should affect the page layout of the article. Notes added in proof require Editorial approval.

Manuscripts must be submitted online

  2. During the submission, you need to click on some statements that

(i) The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration;

(ii) The submission file is in Open Office, Microsoft Word, RTF document file format.

(iii) Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

(iv) The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal;

(v) If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed

(vi) The article contains nothing that is unlawful, libelous, or which would, if published, constitute a breach of contract or of confidence or of commitment given to secrecy.

(viii) Authors are also requested to furnish their email address to get a pdf copy of their paper for their personal or academic use. The pdf copy supplied is not for free circulation and cannot be uploaded on any other website.
